Music has taken Michael Jay Cresswell all over the world. A celebrated songwriter with over 100 professional songs to his name, he’s lived, recorded, and performed in London, Nashville, Los Angeles, Le Mans and Cambodia. He’s worked with the cream of session and touring musicians in Music City and toured with the Nashville All Stars, all while refining his songwriting skills and adding to his own catalogue.
Michael also has a reputation as one of Europe's top DJs, spending many years working in Kavos and Ibiza as a 3-deck mixer and professional music producer. Michael is one of the UK's successful country artists, working over in Nashville’s music city since 2010, after signing with Nashville's Wild Oats Records.

Nights On Fire’, zo luidt de titel van het nieuwe langverwachte derde studioalbum van Mercy John. Deze opvolger van het alom geprezen album ‘Let It Go Easy’ (2019) zal op 28 oktober 2022 op vinyl en als CD gereleased worden, via V2 Records.
Het nieuwe 11 nummers omvattende album schreef Mercy John in de Covid-periode. Een tijd waarin ieders geduld op de proef werd gesteld, er steeds maar weer shows verplaatst werden en het succes van de mede-geschreven hit ‘Roller Coaster’ vooral op de radio te horen was en helaas niet live. Maar nu is het tijd voor iets anders, tijd om naar buiten te gaan: de nacht in. Om iets nieuws te ontdekken. Om het leven te vieren dat voor ons ligt, maar ook om het leven te vieren van diegenen die Mercy John helaas in het afgelopen jaar zijn ontvallen. Nog steeds zijn het eigenlijk een stelletje jonge honden die nog maar kortgeleden (zeker als je de coronajaren er vanaf denkt) een southern rock-bandje oprichtten. Maar dat zou je haast vergeten als je alle aandacht in gedachten hebt die ze met hun debuutalbum Brothers vergaarden. In binnen-, maar ook in buitenland.
En de mannen (en dame) hebben er een schepje bovenop gedaan met de samenwerking met Matt Wallace (o.a. Blackberry Smoke, Maroon 5, Faith No More) zodat de liedjes op hun nieuweling Homebound op hun allerbest klinken.
Al vele jaren behoren Dick van Altena (Major Dundee Band) en Savannah ieder voor zich tot de absolute top van de Nederlandse classic country scene. Niet voor niets is dan ook hun gezamenlijke project Back To The Country een van de best bezochte en langst lopende countryshows in de Nederlandse theaters.
Ook deze keer werden weer een aantal meer, maar ook minder, bekende country klassiekers opgenomen voor het nieuwe, inmiddels zevende, Back To The Country album.
Charlie Thomas (Drifters) and Doc Pomus - Be My Rock
The producers of American Masters Sing The Blues (AMSTB) collection on Mad Hands Records are thrilled to announce the debut of “Be My Rock” performed by Charlie Thomas and The Blues Burners. Charlie is one of the original recording Drifters and a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The recently unearthed gem was co-written by renowned songwriters/blues performers Doc Pomus and Philip Namanworth. The bonus track will be available on all streaming platforms September 15th followed by broadcast radio and then included on the star-studded AMSTB 20th anniversary re-release next year.

Says Free's Paul Rodgers on "Memory Street," a song from Blue Deal's 2022 debut album Holy Ground. This statement to Joe Fischer, the former frontman of the Freiburg "Cadillac Blues Band", felt like an accolade for him and was the motivation for founding the band "Blue Deal" - fresh, powerful and experienced, a cross-generational project and forged for the spirit of the age.
Despite the 30-year age difference from the youngest to the oldest band member, the four understand their craft and, due to the age-related different musical spectrum, cleverly merge different styles. The songs tell stories from life or take a critical stand on current issues. The lyrics of the songs are certainly formative, and in addition to the well-established themes, they also contain very critical approaches:

Hoewel zijn collega-muzikanten hem waarderen en weten te vinden wanneer ze hem nodig hebben, wordt gitarist Nick Fletcher betiteld als “the best kept secret in British Prog”. En dat terwijl hij zo’n veertig jaar muziek maakt en componeert. Op zijn twaalfde leerde hij gitaar spelen en hij liet zich beïnvloeden door artiesten als Steve Hackett, Steve Howe, Jan Akkerman en Andrés Segovia. Fletcher studeerde drie jaar aan de Huddersfield School Of Music en speelde in diverse bands, waaronder die van progrock meester John Hackett. Daarnaast heeft hij zich geconcentreerd op het spelen van klassiek gitaar. Ook heeft hij een serie eigen albums uitgebracht.
