De Finse gitariste en zangeres Erja Lyytinen heeft na inmiddels al twaalf albums een behoorlijke naam opgebouwd binnen de bluesrock kringen. Het is dan ook niet voor niets dat zij “The Queen Of The Slide Guitar” genoemd wordt.
Op haar nieuwe album heeft Erja er voor gekozen om haar geluid flink te mengen met allerlei invloeden vanuit de Classic 70’s rock. Het bluesrock geluid blijft in de meeste nummers flink aanwezig maar wordt ook vermengd met invloeden vanuit de funk, soul en pop-rock hoek. Zij wordt op haar album bijgestaan door Tatu Back (bas), Iiro Laitinen (drums) en Harri Taittonen (Hammond, keyboards).

Erja Lyytinen is pleased to release the third single and title track from her ninth studio album Waiting For The Daylight. The single is released the same day as her highly anticipated new album Waiting For The Daylight, which is available HERE.
To support the release of the new album, Erja will embark on a co-headline UK tour with the award-winning Belfast-based blues guitarist Dom Martin from November 7-10. Dates include Southampton, The 1865 (Nov 7), Bilston, The Robin (Nov 8), London, The Grace (Nov 9) and Grimsby, Yardbirds Club (Nov 10). Erja will be also playing with her band at Dudley, The Lamb (Nov 11) and Sittingbourne, The Bourne Music Club (Nov 13).

“Every year we play Silent Night as part of our annual Blue Christmas tour in Finland,” says Erja. “I’ve always wanted to record our version of this timeless festive number. The song has such a beautiful melody. We did our best to capture the atmospheric mood of the song.

European Blues Award winner Erja Lyytinen will release her ‘Lockdown Live 2020’ as a live album CD and DVD package on Friday 6 November 2020.
The album brilliantly captures a historic moment in time, as it was filmed and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic.
