De Engelse gitarist/zanger Laurence Jones is door bluesicoon Buddy Guy al eens omschreven als ‘the next Eric Clapton’ – er zijn slechtere namen om mee vergeleken te worden. Jones is dan ook een van de beste bluesrockgitaristen van dit moment. Op zijn nieuwe (achtste) album Bad Luck & The Blues (2023) keert Jones terug naar zijn begintijd in een powertrio: de plaat is opgenomen in triobezetting met gitaar, bas en drums.
