De 82-jarige Dion DiMucci kan met recht een veteraan worden genoemd. In 1957 begonnen als zanger bij de Belmonts met doo-wop en pop, kwam in de zeventiger met christelijke muziek en dook in 2000 op met een bluesalbum. Hij werd toen verguisd als voormalig popsterretje, die een graantje mee wilde pikken van de populariteit van de blues. Critici werden al snel stil toen zij zijn werk hoorden. Ook collega-artiesten toonden hun waardering door op albums of tijdens optredens mee te doen. In 2020 verscheen het goed ontvangen “Blues With Friends” waar, zoals de titel al verraadt, hij medewerking krijgt van een aantal collega’s.

DION'S NEW ALBUM MOVES FROM NOVEMBER 5 TO THE NEW RELEASE DATE OF FRIDAY NOVEMBER 19

Dion’s next studio album, Stomping Ground, will now be available on November 19, two weeks later than the date that had been previously announced for its release.  The delay was necessitated by a production delay that jeopardized the originally planned release.  

To date three singles from the album have been made available on digital platforms. These include “Take It Back” with Joe Bonamassa guesting and “I’ve Got To Get To You” with Boz Scaggs, Joe Menza and Mike Menza joining in. Just last week “Angel in the Alleyways” the track featuring Patti Scialfa and Bruce Springsteen was released.
