Samengesteld en geproduceerd door Joe Bonamassa, werd BB King's Blues Summit 100 gecreëerd ter ere van de 100e verjaardag van de overleden blueslegende. Met meer dan 40 gastartiesten verdeeld over 32 nummers, viert het project Kings blijvende invloed op blues, rock en soul. Maar van de vele hoogtepunten is de interpretatie van "The Thrill Is Gone" door Clapton en Khan uitgegroeid tot het meest memorabele moment.

Bonamassa wist vanaf het begin dat het nummer speciale aandacht vereiste.
