Annika Chambers & Paul DesLauriers - Good Trouble Single ‘Stand Up'

Internationally acclaimed artists, American soul-blues singer Annika Chambers and Canadian Blues-rocker Paul DesLauriers have unified their personal and artistic destiny. After a brief introduction in Memphis at the 2018 International Blues Challenge, they met again at a 2019 recording session and got married in August of that year.

Now they have come together to create a powerful, soulfully rocking album that’s an inspiration and a balm for life in today’s world. GOOD TROUBLE started as Pandemic therapy, as newlyweds Annika and Paul got together with guitarist JP Soars and drummer Chris Peet in Peet’s Florida home studio. The collaboration grew and blossomed.

Adeem Maria, ook wel bekend als Adeem the Artist, is een improv dichter, singer-songwriter en artiest. Afgelopen week heeft Adeem diens nieuwe moderne country-single Middle Of A Heart uitgebracht. Daarnaast heeft Adeem ook diens nieuwe album White Trash Revelry aangekondigd.

Toen de familie van Adeem the Artist vanuit Tennessee verhuisde naar Syracuse, in de staat New York, gebruikten Adeem songwriting als een middel om de daaruit voortvloeiende cultuurschok te verwerken.

Humor heeft altijd centraal in het leven gestaan van de singer-songwriter,

waarbij Adeem komieken Andy Kaufman en Sarah Silverman aanhaalt als artistieke invloeden naast muzikanten als John Prine en Blind Boy Fuller. Adeem merkte al snel dat het met de juiste levering donkere humor makkelijker werd om te praten over moeilijke topics. Hieruit voort kwam de inspiratie van Middle Of A Heart. Zo zegt Adeem zelf: "My parents are both from a lot of generational trauma, and I was born right at the heart of it, humor is just how we survived."

Singer/songwriter and upright bassist Melissa Carper has unveiled "Ramblin' Soul," the title track from her forthcoming LP due out on November 18th via Mae Music/Thirty Tigers. The song and its accompanying video embody the spirit of Carper's album.

"I wrote 'Ramblin' Soul' driving down the road on a familiar trip from Arkansas back down to Texas," she told The Bluegrass Situation. "I had just spent time with some musician friends and was feeling re-energized. On this trip, I realized just how much that free, ramblin' life I've lived over the years has stimulated my creative process. Arkansas, Texas, and Tennessee have been states I just keep making the rounds to, as well as New Mexico and Minnesota, so these places made their way into the song," Carper added.

Sean Webster, Barrelhouse, The Dibs, Little Steve & the Big Beat waren al bekend. Band of Friends, Kat Riggins en Grainne Duffy maken de imposante lijst compleet.

Op 17 februari brengt Forty Below Records  Weight of the World uit,  het nieuwe album van de bekroonde Blues and Roots-muzikant Joe Louis Walker.

Een Blues Hall of Fame-inductee en zesvoudig Blues Music Award-winnaar,  NPR  beschreef Walker als "een legendarisch grensverleggend icoon van moderne blues." Zijn release uit 2015,  Everyone Wants a Piece , werd genomineerd voor de Contemporary Blues Grammy. Daarnaast duelleerde Walker met BB King op zijn Grammy Award-winnende  Blues Summit -  album en speelde hij gitaar op James Cotton's Grammy-winnende album  Deep in the Blues .
