De Nederlandse zanger en mondharmonicaspeler Michel Zwiers alias Harp Mitch en de Duitse gitarist Helmut Jakobs alias Guitar Jakobs zijn al weer 2 decennia binnen verschillende bands met elkaar onderweg in de bluesscene. Als akoestisch duo zijn ze 3 jaar bezig een programma te ontwikkelen om in theaters, cafés en andere podia, hun reis door de blues te verkondigen.

Vandaag maakt Bospop de eerste namen voor 2022 bekend. Volgend jaar is het eindelijk tijd voor het 40-jarige jubileum van het festival. Na twee uitgestelde jaren staat Bospop 2022 gepland op vrijdag 8, zaterdag 9 en zondag 10 juli. Opnieuw verhuist een groot deel van de oorspronkelijke programmering mee naar 2022.
Afgelopen december bracht ik het album ‘Where The Road Takes Me’ uit, een album met eigen liedjes in diverse muziekstijlen.
Niet lang na de release nam ik het nummer The Ballad of a Damned Man op voor mijn lang gekoesterde
wens, het uitbrengen van een blues album. Hiervoor benaderde ik mijn vriend Matt Pribojzski, de Hongaarse bluesharp virtuoos, beter bekend als Jumping Matt (Grunting Pigs, Jumping Matt & His Combo), voor een muzikale bijdrage.

Het onafhankelijke muziekplatform Mpodia komt op vrijdag 21 mei 2021 om 17:00 uur met een video première van de nieuwe singel van het Haagse Duo Banty Holler “Clementine”. Banty Holler maakt al een tijdje eigenzinnige roots muziek waarin Alt Country, American folk, rock, blues, en rockabilly hand in hand gaan. Muskee - So Many Roads‘So many roads’ om te kiezen, zoveel nieuwe optredens en inspiratie. Altijd onderweg naar.. ja, naar wat eigenlijk? Het perspectief van een man die altijd op zoek was, en altijd thuis wilde zijn. Reizen en thuiskomen, zwart en wit, onrust en rust. Het leven van Harry Muskee.
Dit stuk speelt zich af in de tussentijd... dat vreemde gebied waar je blijkbaar terechtkomt als je gestorven bent, maar nog niet dood. Die plek waar al je herinneringen nog één keer voorbijkomen maar niet helemaal zo realistisch als je wel zou willen. Het verhaal dat je over die ene kent, is plotseling een historie over een ander. Dat komt er van als je nog één keer mag zwerven door het doolhof van je leven.
Het bestuur van Culemborg Blues heeft de beslissing zo lang mogelijk voor zich uit geschoven, maar ze zijn ingehaald door de realiteit: helaas ook in 2021 geen Culemborg Blues festival.
De situatie in de ziekenhuizen en het vaccinatie tempo is zodanig dat de verwachting is dat op 28 augustus de 1,5 meter-regel nog steeds van kracht is.
