Veel mensen die geïnteresseerd zijn in muziek zullen zich zeker de prachtige akoestische ballad "Indigo Girl" uit 2002 herinneren, die door bijna alle radiostations werd gespeeld. Dit is het verhaal van een meisje op wie de hoofdpersoon smoorverliefd wordt, maar waarvan hij zeker weet dat hij dit meisje nooit zal kunnen winnen. Op de bijhorende video is te zien hoe deze vrouw in gedachten steeds door zijn blikveld rent, ze staat naast hem, maar bestaat niet echt. Daarom bevat de video altijd fragmenten van wat lijkt op bewakingscamera's, waarin de vrouw ook niet te zien is. Maar uiteindelijk zie je haar echt, wat ons waarschijnlijk zou moeten laten zien dat dromen soms kunnen uitkomen - vooral die naar een Indigo-meisje.

Niet zoals oorspronkelijk gepland het laatste weekend van januari, maar het laatste weekend van maart staat het centrum van Assen in het teken van de Blues. Er is op 36 locaties te genieten van allerlei soorten live Bluesmuziek.
Op zaterdag 26 maart vindt voor de 35e keer de Bluesroute Assen plaats, als onderdeel van de Asser Bluesdagen.
Vanaf 12.00 uur zal in lunchcafés en vanaf 14.00 uur in verschillende ‘Instore’ locaties en in het centrum van Assen de Bluesmuziek al klinken, gevolgd door de Early Blues vanaf 16.30 uur tijdens het Blues Diner om 18:00 uur in verschillende restaurants. Vanaf 22.00 uur start de Bluesroute met livemuziek in 12 horecagelegenheden in de binnenstad van Assen

De uit New York afkomstige Regina Bonelli heeft jarenlang in diverse bands en achtergrondkoortjes gezongen voordat zij in 2016 haar debuutalbum “Open Up The Door” uitbracht.
