BLUESMAGAZINE’S WEEKLY PLAYLIST 113 Bluesmagazine’s weekly playlist is een gevarieerde lijst met onder andere tips van de luisteraars. Er is verder muziek met een link naar Bluesmagazine (releases, recensies, concert reviews) en daarna is de keuze gigantisch. De playlist is voor de luisteraar, naast het lezen van Bluesmagazine en andere Blues websites, een manier om nieuwe artiesten en hun muziek te leren kennen.Samenstelling: Jos Verhagen Deze week verloor ik een goede vriend aan kanker, een groot Jethro Tull fan, hij kon daar uren over praten. Als herinnering aan hem een van zijn favoriete liedjes van Jethro Tull in de lijst. Verder blues blijft ons elke week weer verrassen, ook nu weer met nieuwe releases en bij de wekelijkse tips van de luisteraars. Gulf Coast Records Announces the Signing of Blues Guitar Wizard Joanna Connor and Will Release Her Label Debut CD in Spring, 2023

 Gulf Coast Records announces the signing of acclaimed Chicago blues guitar great Joanna Connor, and will release her label debut CD in the Spring of 2023. Connor will be going into the studio in December to record the new album.  She’ll be recording with her “Wrecking Crew 22” band that includes: Joanna Connor - guitar and vocals; Shaun Gotti Calloway – bass; Dan Souvigny – guitar and keys; Curtis Moore Jr. – keys; and Jason J Roc Edwards - drums and vocals. Several special guests on the sessions will be announced at a later date.

Joanna Connor releases her new single “Destination” produced by and featuring Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith, on Friday February 26^th; on the same day she releases her new album “4801 South Indiana Avenue” via Bonamassa’s new record label KTBA Records (Keeping the Blues Alive).

Joanna’s new single, “Destination”, a raw and gritty blues rock cover of the Assassins classic, is available to stream and the new album is available to pre-order HERE.

De plaats waar zangeres, componiste en gitaarwonder Joanna Connor opgroeide, Worcester, Massachusetts, staat niet bepaald bekend als een blues-hotspot. Toch was het daar dat ze de muziek ontdekte. Haar moeder was daarbij van grote invloed: zij luisterde naar blues, folk en rock, waardoor Joanna de muziek van Buddy Guy en Taj Mahal met de paplepel kreeg ingegoten. Toen ze wat ouder was, ontdekte ze steeds meer artiesten, ook de meer obscure.
