Hoewel hij nog maar 23 is, heeft Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram al een flinke geschiedenis in de muziek. Hij ontdekte de blues op zijn vijfde, toen zijn vader hem een documentaire over Muddy Waters liet zien en beloofde hem mee te nemen naar het Delta Blues Museum. Hoewel hij begon op drums en de bas, pakte Ingram al vroeg een gitaar op en liet zich inspireren door uiteenlopende artiesten als Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix en Prince. Hij ontwikkelde snel zijn eigen geluid en stijl. Als tiener trok hij miljoenen views met zijn YouTube filmpjes en trad hij op voor Michelle Obama in het Witte Huis. Ingram bracht zijn debuutalbum ‘Kingfish’ uit in 2019 en kwam meteen op 1 binnen in de Billboard Blues Chart, waarna het magazine ‘Rolling Stone’ hem uitriep tot ‘een van de spannendste jonge gitaristen in jaren’. Vele prijzen en optredens later verscheen vorig jaar zijn tweede album ‘662’, dat weer jubelende recensies opleverde.
