Populaire soulzangeres Angie Stone (63) overleden na auto-ongeluk

De Amerikaanse zangeres Angie Stone (63), genomineerd voor drie Grammy Awards, is zaterdag op 63-jarige leeftijd overleden, aldus haar vertegenwoordiger. Stone kwam om bij een auto-ongeluk na een optreden.

Het fatale ongeluk vond plaats in Montgomery (Alabama). Er zaten nog negen andere passagiers in het busje waarin Stone zat, maar de populaire R&B-zangeres overleefde als enige het ongeluk niet. Stone, geboren in South Carolina, was lid van het iconische vrouwelijke hiphoptrio The Sequence. Het populairste nummer van de groep was Funk you up.

Column: De plaat en zijn verhaal.  Geschreven door: Henk Laing  Alice Cooper met How You Gonna See Me Now Het is 1978, en mijn tienerjaren worden gekleurd door de nummers van Alice Cooper. Zijn nummers waren rebels, energiek en doordrenkt van de typische shockrock die hem beroemd maakte. “School’s Out”, “Elected”, “Hello Hurray”, “No More Mr. Nice Guy”, maar vooral “Hallo Of Flies” zijn de favorieten op de zolderkamer, draaiend vanaf mijn “ERRES EK3511” cassette-deck.
