Absoluut opgewonden om mijn nieuwe album “Into the Blue - Live in concert” aan te kondigen, dat live werd opgenomen op 27 maart in Harmonie in Bonn. Met een selectie van de beste originelen en covers van het concert die avond, wordt Into the Blue op 19 september 2024 in eigen beheer uitgebracht op CD en Blu-ray schijf in een prachtig dubbel digipak! Grote dank aan de muzikanten die die avond op het podium van Harmonie in Bonn, Duitsland speciaal maakten, Krissy Matthews op gitaar, Felix Dehmel op drums en Josh Rigal op bas en achtergrondzang. Grote dank aan Martin Meinschaefer van Megaphon Tonstudios voor opnemen, mixen en masteren, en Moritz Meinschaefer voor cinematografie en montage.

US legendary southern rock n’ rollers Preacher Stone are excited to release their good time summer vibed new single and video ‘Rain or Shine’. The track is lifted from their highly acclaimed, full-tilt rock, emotive and inspiring new album ‘V’ of which Powerplay Magazine proclaimed, “It’s edgy, it's raw, it’s high emotion. 9/10.” 

Frontman Ronnie Riddle warmly enthuses, “As a band we live in this world where if we’re OK with you and you’re OK with us, then we should all get along and the more folk that do that, the better and to not pay attention to the garbage out there. The Georgia Thunderbolts have revealed a lyric video for the brand new track "Crawling My Way Back To You", taken from their highly-anticipated sophomore album, 'Rise Above It All,' set for release on August 23rd via Mascot Records.

About the new song vocalist TJ Lyle says, "This song could be about a lot of different things, but everyone will gravitate toward a relationship, naturally. I remember when I wrote this song, I was in a bad place mentally. Didn’t want to get out of bed. Couldn’t live in the moment for thinking about what needed to be done in the future.

Magic Frankie in de Dutch Blues Hall of Fame

Met de Dutch Blues Awards geeft de Dutch Blues Foundation (DBF) waardering aan mensen die een belangrijke bijdrage leveren aan de Blues in Nederland. Afgelopen jaren zette de DBF daarmee een kleine 100-tal bands, muzikanten, personen en organisaties in de spotlights.

Zondagmiddag 6 oktober worden acht Awards uitgereikt tijdens de Dutch Blues Challenge, die dit jaar voor het eerst in TivoliVredenburg Utrecht plaatsvindt.

DUTCH BLUES AWARD – HALL OF FAME – MAGIC FRANKIE

Bij de blueshistorie die Nederland rijk is hoort ook een Dutch Blues Hall of Fame (HOF). De Dutch Blues Hall of Fame is een historisch archief van mensen die door optredens, opnames of documentatie van onschatbare waarde zijn of zijn geweest voor de Nederlandse bluesgeschiedenis.

Dit jaar wordt gitarist Magic Frankie (Frank van den Bergh) in de Dutch Blues Hall of Fame toegelaten en mag zich scharen bij muzikanten als Oscar Benton, Harry (Cuby) Muskee, Willem van Dullemen, Hans Theessink, Michael de Jong, Eelco Gelling en de vorig jaar toegelaten Lefthand Freddy.

Bluesmuzikant Guy Verlinde (B) wint Belgian Blues Award

Op 21 juni werden voor het eerst de Belgian Blues Awards uitgereikt. Dit is een initiatief van de Belgian Blues Federation om de Belgische bluesmuziek in de kijker te zetten. Gentse bluesmuzikant Guy Verlinde sleepte met grote voorsprong de award van Best Solo/Duo Act in de wacht en was daarnaast ook genomineerd in de categorie Best Artist.

Het afgelopen decennium domineerde Guy Verlinde de Belgische blues & rootsscene Hij toerde non-stop door Europa, nam 16 albums op in 15 jaar en speelde in tal van prestigieuze clubs Nederland en op internationale festivals (Blues Peer (B), Cognac Blues Passions (FR), Moulin Blues (NL),...) waar hij de affiche deelde met grootheden als: BB King, John Fogerty, Tony Joe White, Santana, John Hiatt, Canned Heat, Jeff Beck...

Editie 18 van Bluesfestival Hoogeveen wordt er eentje in een nieuw jasje. We betrekken onze tuin erbij en rijden foodtrucks naar De Tamboer, zodat jij vanaf 18.00 uur al in de stemming kunt komen door met andere muziekliefhebbers een hapje te eten.
