Minder mensen weten dat Thorbjørn Risager en Tornado-pianoman Emil Balsgaard samen een geschiedenis hebben die veel verder teruggaat in de tijd. Hun samenwerking begon 27 jaar geleden toen ze elkaar ontmoetten in een New Orleans-stijl blues 'n' funkband genaamd Rad Gumbo .

De Nijmeegse rockband Black Bottle Riot komt op zaterdag 9 oktober naar Het Podium. Tricklebolt verzorgt de supportshow. De kaartverkoop is gestart.

Black Bottle Riot bestaat al ruim tien jaar. De band speelde op vele binnenlandse en buitenlandse podia, op festivals als Rockin' Park, Zwarte Cross en Down The Rabbit Hole en verzorgde een supportshow voor onder meer ZZ Top, Blackberry Smoke, Rival Sons en Black Stone Cherry.

Grolloo, groupies en dierenliefde centraal in nieuwe expo Muskee

Tien jaar na de dood van Harry Muskee, staat het Cuby and the Blizzards Museum in Grolloo stil bij het leven van de blueszanger. In de nieuwe expositie is nooit eerder vertoond materiaal te zien en horen.

Het museum, dat dit jaar tien jaar bestaat, hoopt op 10 juni de nieuwe expositie 'Harry Spreekt, Stap in de wereld van Muskee' te kunnen openen: de dag dat Muskee tachtig jaar zou zijn geworden. Conservator Sjoerd Looijenga spreekt dan ook van een herinneringsjaar.

Hoewel het nog niet zeker is wanneer de musea in Nederland hun deuren weer mogen openen, wordt in het C+B Museum hard gewerkt aan een nieuwe expositie. De nieuwe tentoonstelling, die te zien moet zijn wanneer het nieuwe seizoen begint, stelt Harry Muskee centraal. Het jaar 2021 is een bijzonder jaar, want op 10 juni zou de in 2011 overleden Harry Muskee tachtig jaar zijn geworden. Het C+B Museum bestaat dit jaar tien jaar en ook wordt dit jaar de tiende sterfdag van Harry Muskee herdacht. Voor conservator Sjoerd Looijenga is de nieuw in te richten expositie een uitdaging er iets moois van te maken in het herinneringsjaar.
