Smash Mouth-zanger Steve Harwell op 56-jarige leeftijd overleden Steve Harwell, de leadzanger van de rockband Smash Mouth die in 1999 een wereldhit scoorde met All Star, is maandag op 56-jarige leeftijd overleden. Dat laat zijn manager Robert Hayes maandag aan Amerikaanse media weten.

Om 20.00 starten we met een kort interview en aansluitend is er een toffe liveband. Publiek is van harte welkom. Entree is gratis. Deze maand speelt finalist van de Dutch Blues Challenge! Deze show is in samenwerking met de Dutch Blues foundation.

Goud van OuD - Charlie Watts(Rolling Stones)

Charlie Watts Charlie Watts (Londen, Groot-Brittannië, 1942) was de drummer van The Rolling Stones. Zijn stijl wordt gekenmerkt door een sobere aanpak; Charlie drumt zonder veel poespas. Keith Richards vindt Charlie de meest onderschatte rockdrummer; hij richt zich tijdens concerten altijd op Charlie, omdat hij zich niet van de wijs laat brengen door het flamboyante gedrag van zanger Mick Jagger. Charlie is een jazzliefhebber. Hij is dan ook het meest in zijn element in de wat meer rustige songs van de Stones als hij gebruik kan maken van zijn brushes. Hij heeft ooit tijdens een interview gezegd dat hij thuis nooit een plaat draait van The Rolling Stones. Het muziekblad Rolling Stone zet Charlie Watts op de 12e plaats van de lijst van beste drummers aller tijden. In 2021 gaat het niet goed met zijn gezondheid. Hij moet een ingreep ondergaan en zal niet meegaan met de dan aanstaande tournee van The Stones. Charlie Watts overlijdt in Londen op 24 augustus 2021. Hij is 80 jaar geworden.
