Velen zullen bij het ontvangen van hun vorige album niet eerder van Ticket West hebben gehoord maar dankzij de vele, positieve reacties op "Cab Driving Man", zal dat nu hopelijk anders zijn. Vervelend was uiteraard dat het album in een tijd verscheen waarin er nauwelijks gespeeld kon worden. Dat zal met het verschijnen "49 Park St. Blues" waarschijnlijk anders zijn. Op dit album, met allemaal eigen werk, ook weer een keur aan prima gasten, waaronder Roel Spanjers, Bas Kleine en Ernst Grevink (aka Erny Green), die ook de productie voor rekening nam.

24 november 2021, net voordat Nederland weer in lockdown ging gaf de 11-koppige Phil Bee Band een dampend concert in Tivoli Vredenburg, Utrecht. Die gelegenheid liet Phil zich niet ontgaan om live opnames te maken.Bij het beluisteren viel al gauw de energie van band en publiek op. Bee, die net een maand daarvoor the Voice Senior had gewonnen met de daaropvolgend landelijke aandacht voor dit concert, haalde alles uit de kast, inclusief 3-koppige blazerssectie.Nieuwe arrangementen werden geschreven en gerepeteerd, waardoor ook het bekende repertoire een compleet nieuw en voller jasje kreeg. Originals worden afgewisseld met eigen bewerkingen van onder andere 'Come together' en 'Tennessee whiskey'. Bee en de hele band waren die avond 'on fire' hetgeen resulteert in dit album. Volgens Bee het beste wat hij ooit gemaakt heeft.

Het Podium: Vaartslag

Stem op jouw favoriete band!  Vaartslag - The Cover Edition 20 en 21 mei 2022  Dit weekend strijden zeven bands in twee voorrondes om een felbegeerde plek in de Vaartslag finale. Niet zo gek, want de uiteindelijke winnaar verdient 20 uren in de oefenruimtes van Het Podium én speelt 2 juli op de Coverland Stage van Stadsfestival Hoogeveen! Naast een juryprijs, is er ook een publieksprijs te verdienen. Zorg daarom dat je er vrijdag en zaterdag bij bent in Het Podium en stem op jouw favoriete band.

World-renowned blues guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and Alligator Records recording artist Chris Cain has won the 2021 International Songwriting Competition in the Blues category for his original song I Believe I Got Off Cheap. The song originally appeared on Cain's 2021 Alligator Records debut album Raisin' Cain. UK tastemaker magazine MOJO named Raisin' Cain the #3 Best Blues Album of 2021.
