Alligator Records Artists Receive 27 Blues Music Award Nominations  On Friday, January 24, 2025, the Blues Foundation announced the nominees for the 46th Annual Blues Music Awards. Alligator Records artists received an astounding 27 nominations. Leading all artists with six nominations is Rick Estrin & The Nightcats. Nominations include the coveted awards for Band Of The Year, Album Of The Year (for The Hits Keep Coming) and, for Estrin, the B.B. King Entertainer Of The Year. Chris was een revelatie op het “Holland International Blues Festival” 2022 in Grolloo!!!!

Chris Cain brengt een soulvolle stoofpot van elektrische blues in Memphis-stijl. Zijn krachtige diepe zang en jazz geïnspireerde, blues gitaar riffs zijn onvergetelijk; uniek van hemzelf, terwijl het doet denken aan de legendarische BB King en Albert King. Als kind bezocht Chris Cain samen met zijn vader concerten van de grote bluesartiesten uit die tijd. Toen Cain in 1987 op de blues scene verscheen met zijn bekroonde debuutalbum, bleek hij al snel het podium te delen en licks uit te wisselen met een paar van die legendes, waaronder Albert King en Albert Collins. Chris Cain heeft een dozijn albums uitgebracht, elk gevuld met soul-stirring songs getrokken uit zijn eigen blues doordrenkte hart. Zijn stijl van blues is onvergetelijk.

Als zowel Joe Bonamassa als wijlen B.B. King je de hemel in prijzen, heb je toch iets goed gedaan. De Amerikaanse bluesgitarist Chris Cain is degene die beide legendarische muzikanten voor zich won. Zelf groeide hij op met de jeugdverhalen van zijn vader die zich afspeelden op Memphis’ beroemde Beale Street en woonde al op zijn derde zijn eerste B.B. King-concert bij. Hij pakte op zijn achtste een gitaar op en speelde als minderjarige reeds professioneel muziek.

Song Appears On Cain's 2021 Alligator Records Debut Album Raisin' Cain

World-renowned blues guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and Alligator Records recording artist Chris Cain has won the 2021 International Songwriting Competition in the Blues category for his original song I Believe I Got Off Cheap. The song originally appeared on Cain's 2021 Alligator Records debut album Raisin' Cain. UK tastemaker magazine MOJO named Raisin' Cain the #3 Best Blues Album of 2021. Upon winning the award, Cain said, "I'm just really honored that my tune would even be considered in the running for the Songwriting Competition. It means a lot to me."
