Delmark Records 70th Anniversary Blues Anthology STREET DATE: JULY 21, 2023 Zeventig jaar is lang. Zeventig jaar voordat wijlen Bob Koester Delmar (later Delmark) Records oprichtte terwijl een student in St. Louis, Buffalo Bill's reizende Wild West Show debuteerde, was Chester A. Arthur president, Thomas Edison bracht voor het eerst elektrisch licht naar Roselle, NJ tijd, en "Black Bart" was in het nieuws voor een andere post koetsoverval. Toen Koester in 1953 zijn eerste plaat uitbracht, waren veel van de inmiddels iconische figuren in de blues en jazz nog dagelijks werkende muzikanten, Ike zat in het Witte Huis en de VS vochten in Korea.

DANNY BRYANT - nieuw album en single. Danny Bryant behoort al een tijdlang tot de UK’s meest gevierde bluesrock artiesten en op 29 september a.s. zal zijn nieuwe album “Rise” verschijnen via Jazzhaus Records. Zijn dertiende album inmiddels en het laat Bryant op zijn best horen.

Generations of BLUES

Eddie Taylor Sr, een meestergitarist en VeeJay-artiest, en zijn vrouw, zangeres Vera Taylor, waren leiders in de Great Migration-generatie die de blues van Mississippi naar de West Side van Chicago bracht in de jaren vijftig.  Vijf van hun acht kinderen groeiden op tot professionele musici. Uit de meedogenloze chaos van stedelijke armoede, geweld en raciaal onrecht in de thuisgemeenschap van de Taylors rijst de schoonheid van deze overlevingsmuziek op. De blues zit hen in het bloed
