Het trio Stash weet met hun eerste album “Walk The Walk” meteen de aandacht op zich gevestigd te krijgen. Niet zo verwonderlijk, want de heren zijn door de wol geverfde muzikanten, die hun sporen al vele jaren hebben verdiend. Om te beginnen is daar Ted Russell Kamp (zang, bas, akoestische gitaar, banjo, orgel, trompet en trombone), die begin van dit jaar nog een eigen album heeft uitgebracht. Dan hebben Rich McCulley (gitaren, baritone gitaar, dobro, mandolin en toetsen), die met allerlei grote bands heeft gewerkt en ook solowerk heeft uitgebracht. En als laatste Joey Peters (drums, percussie en toetsen), die ook een gevraagd producent, geluidstechnicus en componist is.

“Walk The Walk” bevat dertien zelfgeschreven nummers, die variëren van rock, country tot blues en rock ’n roll en alles wat er omheen hangt. Het wordt ook wel ‘roots’-muziek genoemd. En van begin tot eind is het genieten. Dertien goed geschreven en uitgevoerde nummers, over het algemeen uptempo en swingend. Behalve muzikaal blijft dat de heren ook nog wat te vertellen hebben. Luister mar naar “Smoke And Mirrors”, waar politici een veeg uit de pan krijgen of “Ain’t That Kind Of Man”, dat vertelt over armoe en uitzichloosheid en het nemen van de verkeerde beslissingen. Ook de liefde wordt bezongen in nummers als “You’re The One” en “Into The Sunset”. Andere nummers die een speciale vermelding verdienen zijn “Sweet Salvation Of The Dawn” en “One Step Ahead Of The Law”. “Walk The Walk” is een zeer sterk album geworden. Absolute topklasse.

The trio Stash immediately draws attention to themselves with their first album “Walk The Walk”. Not so surprising, because the guys are seasoned musicians, who have earned their spurs for many years. To start with, there's Ted Russell Kamp (vocals, bass, acoustic guitar, banjo, organ, trumpet and trombone), who released his own latest album at the beginning of this year. Then there's Rich McCulley (guitars, baritone guitar, dobro, mandolin and keys), who has worked with all kinds of big bands and also released solo work. And finally Joey Peters (drums, percussion and keys), who is also a sought-after producer, sound engineer and composer.

“Walk The Walk” contains thirteen self-written songs, which vary from rock, country to blues and rock 'n roll and everything that surrounds it. It is also known as "roots" music. And it's fun from start to finish. Thirteen well written and performed songs, generally uptempo and swinging. Besides musically, the gentlemen also have something to say. Just listen to “Smoke And Mirrors”, where politicians get a kick out of it or “Ain't That Kind Of Man”, which talks about poverty and hopelessness and making the wrong decisions. Love is also sung in songs like “You're The One” and “Into The Sunset”. Other songs that deserve a special mention are “Sweet Salvation Of The Dawn” and “One Step Ahead Of The Law”. “Walk The Walk” has become a very strong album. Absolute top class.
