Voor het derde jaar op rij slaat Poppunt Gelderland de handen ineen met Mañana Mañana, hét ontdekfestival van de Achterhoek. Samen laten we festivalbezoekers kennismaken met de meest veelbelovende acts uit Gelderland. Uit maar liefst 100 inzendingen via Sonar zijn drie artiesten gekozen: Politie Warnsveld, The Vonks en Roofman.

Williams, een nieuwe naam op het Black Mesa Records label (Tim Easton, Beau Jennings, Beth Bombara etc.). Weinig bekend nog rond deze man, alleen dat jij bij John Moreland in de band heeft gespeeld.  Moreland heeft het album ook geproduceerd! “Tulsa” is de tweede track van zijn aankomende album “Unremarkable Lives” wat verwacht wordt op 9 Augustus.

De playlist is voor de luisteraar, naast het lezen van Bluesmagazine en andere Blues websites, een manier om nieuwe artiesten en hun muziek te leren kennen. Samenstelling: Jos Verhagen De blues blijft ons elke week weer verrassen, de stapel aan nieuwe releases blijft groeien, volop nieuwe albums in de playlist van deze week. Op het eerste gezicht was de combinatie van muziekveteranen Nico Brandsen (toetsen) en Ton Dijkman (drums) met de jonge zangeres Melanie ‘Mell’ Jonk zangeres Melanie ‘Mell’ Jonk wellicht ietwat bijzonder. Maar zodra ze in 2016 hun debuutsingle Call My Name uitbrachten, bleek alles volkomen logisch.
