Fin­ley groei­de op in Lou­siana. Toen hij een jaar of tien was kreeg hij van z’n vad­er geld om een nieuw paar schoe­nen te kopen, maar kwam in plaats daar­van thuis met een gitaar. Door optre­dens van lokale gospel­groepen te bezoeken, en nauwlet­tend de vingers van de gitarist in de gat­en te houden, leerde hij spe­len. In 1970 ging hij in dienst en trok met een leg­erband dwars door Europa.

Aynsley Lister vervanger van Popa Chubby

  Popa Chubby heeft zijn Europese tour moeten afzeggen om gezondheidsreden.

De boekers van Ribs & Blues hebben op het laatste moment toch een uitstekende vervanger gevonden in de Britse bluesgitarist Aynsley Lister en band!

Lister zal hierdoor de zondagavond 19 mei afsluiten op Mainstage van het festival in Raalte.

“Met 24 internationale acts kan er altijd wat gebeuren, het is jammer dat Popa wegens ziekte moet afzeggen maar onze line up is met Aynsley Lister weer compleet en hij is zeker niet de minste vervanger, we zijn er heel blij mee,” aldus voorzitter Ton Groot Beumer van Ribs & Blues.
