Rex Pearce and Dale Murray are South Louisiana writers, musicians, and record producers. Their music has been in movies, on national TV, and on the radio. They named the group of studio players The Groove Krewe. Mardis Gras clubs are known as Krewes. Nickelback is terug met een van zijn hardste tracks tot dusver. Voor San Quentin deed frontman Chad Kroeger inspiratie op tijdens een ontmoeting met een bewaker uit van de beruchte zwaar beveiligde San Quentin State Prison in Californië. San Quentin staat ook op Get Rollin’, het album dat de Canadese band op 14 november uitbrengt.

Many of the pioneering recording artists of the 1920's and 30's such as Blind Lemon Jefferson, Son House, Blind Blake, and Willie Johnson were itinerant American blues and gospel singer/songwriters, guitarists, and evangelists. Arkansas born Robert Hill drew inspiration from them for his award-winning original song, "Preacher's Blues" sung by his partner Joanne Lediger on their new release, Revelation, a collection of eleven new tracks of traditional Gospel Blues, which includes four new originals penned by Hill. Joining the duo, who have been performing together for the past 15 years, are Hill's daughter, Paulina, on vocals, Frank Pagano on drums and percussion, Steve Gelfand on bass, with Robert Hill on vocals, keys, harmonica, and his award-winning slide guitar. It has often been said " It's a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning," and this album strives to prove that axiom self-evident.

Jubilerend Muziekgebouw Eindhoven ontvangt Berlijnse band zaterdag 29 oktober
Het uit Berlijn afkomstige collectief Jazzanova speelt zaterdag 29 oktober in Muziekgebouw Eindhoven tijdens het So What’s Next Jazzfestival Eindhoven. Het betreft het enige optreden van de band in Nederland. Dat maakt het op voorhand al memorabele festival – het is de tiende editie en Muziekgebouw Eindhoven viert in 2022 het 30-jarig jubileum – extra bijzonder. Naast Jazzanova treden deze dag onder andere Karsu, Archie Shepp Quartet, Lady Blackbird, Yellowjackets en Hans Dulfer op. Tickets kosten € 47,50 exclusief servicekosten en zijn verkrijgbaar via de website van Muziekgebouw Eindhoven.
Jazzanova brak door als collectief van DJ’s en producers in de nu-jazz, electro en chill-out. Albums als The Remixes en Blue Note Trip kennen inmiddels een legendarische status. Het in Berlijn residerende gezelschap heeft zich ondertussen ontwikkeld tot een energieke live band en is nu - in samenwerking met DJ Amir - ijzersterk terug met het nieuwe album ‘Strata Records-The Sound Of Detroit - Reimagined by Jazzanova’ (2022).
