SHEMEKIA COPELAND WINS UK BLUES AWARD FOR INTERNATIONAL BLUES ARTIST OF THE YEAR Award Presented In Online Ceremony Hosted by Paul Jones On Sunday, May 9, award-winning vocalist Shemekia Copeland received the coveted UK Blues Award for International Blues Artist Of The Year. The award was presented in a virtual ceremony hosted by BBC radio personality, actor and musician Paul Jones. The UK Blues Awards were created by the UK Blues Federation to give the blues community in the UK the opportunity to recognize and applaud those actively involved with the music.

New Single:Christone Kingfish Ingram - 662

Alligator Records recording artist Christone "Kingfish" Ingram has released his new digital single, 662. The hard-driving original song finds Ingram celebrating his Clarksdale, Mississippi roots. The song, co-written by Ingram and producer Tom Hambridge, is now available on all major streaming and download platforms.

LOCHEM - Joost Carlier uit Lochem besloot ooit met zijn vrienden dat op Hemelvaartsdag iets anders moest plaatsvinden dan het traditionele dansfeest. Dat was 50 jaar geleden. Op 23 mei 1968 zag het Lochem Festival het levenslicht.

In het Stadshuus in Lochem is een fototentoonstelling over het Lochem Festival te zien. Het publiek kan er tot en met 30 juni terecht. 

Legendarische namen zoals The Clash, Nina Hagen, Bo Diddley, en uiteraard Normaal. Joost Carlier: 'In 1975 was het Nederlands in de popmuziek nauwelijks aan de orde. Toen kwam in één keer het Achterhoeks, dus iedereen was totaal geschokt.'

Zittend aan een piano in het midden van de "smooshed" ruimte ("Het is echt een klein, klein bureau"), begon ze de set met vier nummers met "Show Me Love", ondersteund door haar band en twee achtergrondzangers.

Hoewel ze op enkele van 's werelds grootste podia heeft gespeeld, voelde Alicia zich meteen thuis in de kleine ruimte. "Ik en de bemanning, we voelen ons zo warm en gezellig", zei ze tegen de menigte. “Het voelt zo goed om gewoon in een intieme ruimte te zijn en contact met je te maken. Er is niets waar ik meer van houd dan de intimiteit in een persoonlijke ruimte. "

Het komende weekend hadden we je graag gezien op het Moulin Blues festivalterrein in Ospel. Helaas is dat ook dit jaar niet haalbaar.

Toch kijken wij positief naar de toekomst!

Beetje bij beetje komt er gelukkig meer perspectief! Achter de schermen zijn we al voorzichtig gestart met de voorbereidingen op de 35e editie van Moulin Blues op 6 en 7 mei 2022- omcirkel het alvast in de agenda!

Daarnaast gaan we er komend weekend toch een geweldig feestje van maken. Na het succes van de thuiseditie van vorig jaar, maken we er ook in 2021 het beste van.

Komende vrijdag 7 en zaterdag 8 mei presenteren we Moulin Blues at Home 2021! Beide dagen van 17.00-24.00 uur via onze Facebookpagina historisch beeldmateriaal uit onze afgestofte archieven! Entree is gratis.
