Tiny Legs Tim of Tim de Graeve, zoals deze in Vlaanderen geboren bluesman bij de burgerlijke stand bekend staat, is één van de vele artiesten voor wie de professionele carrière vorig jaar is stil komen te liggen. Even memorerend, Tim wordt in 1978 geboren en ontwikkelt door de platenverzameling van zijn vader de liefde voor de blues. Nadat hij in 2008 van een langdurige ziekte genezen is besluit hij zich voltijds aan de muziek te wijden en vanaf 2010 verschijnen regelmatig cd’s van hem.

The Blue Stones - Hidden Gems

The Blue Stones , een bluesrockduo uit Windsor, Ontario, bestaande uit leden Tarek Jafar (zang, gitaar) en Justin Tessier  (percussie, achtergrondzang), brachten op 19 maart 2021 hun tweede album uit, Hidden Gems. The Blue Stones hebben zichzelf echt overtroffen. Het is een leuke, krachtige plaat.

John McDonough komt uit het muzikaal zo vruchtbare Austin, Texas, waar hij de afgelopen 25 jaar zijn muziek heeft laten horen. In die periode heeft hij acht zelfgeproduceerde cd’s in eigen beheer uitgebracht. Zo’n tien jaar geleden is hij gestopt met werken als psychotherapeut en heeft hij zich helemaal aan de muziek gewijd.  De eerste keer dat ik van JP Williams hoorde was begin 2018 toen hij zelf contact met mij zocht via Twitter. Hij stuurde mij toen zijn EP “Stolen Cadillac”, die mij prima beviel. Aan het eind van dat jaar volgde het album “Everblue”. Williams is geboren in New York City en begon daar met optredens in koffiebars en nachtclubs.

Nothing going on in the City zette Groningen als muziekstad definitief op de kaart.
In januari 2016 vond een zo goed als complete reunie van de band plaats tijdens Sterren in Martiniplaza. Wat een feest!
