JOHN PRINE

American singer/songwriter John Prine has died at the age of 73 - he was admitted to hospital last month after experiencing coronavirus symptoms. Born in Maywood, Illinois, in October 1946, Prine released his self-titled debut album in 1971 and went on to record and release a further 17 studio albums, his last The Tree Of Forgiveness arriving in 2018. Highly regarded by his peers, Prine's work has been covered by a variety of artists, including Bonnie Raitt and Joan Baez.

De afgelopen weken konden wij al voorzichtig wennen aan het idee, maar na de toespraak van minister-president Rutte van afgelopen dinsdag 31 maart is het overduidelijk. Het is een verwarrende en spannende periode die wij als wereldbevolking meemaken. In dat licht bezien is Mañana Mañana slechts een festivalletje, dus laten wij vooral niet te hard klagen. Maar uiteraard vinden wij het wel verschrikkelijk spijtig. Het is helaas niet anders…...........
