"Great Minds Drink Alike" is the quintessential drinking song, and a fitting blues anthem for the band thathails from Milwaukee, a.k.a. Brew City. This new "With Horns" recording is released to celebrate the band's 20th Anniversary. It will also be the first track on A5's first-ever vinyl album being released later this year. The recording was produced by multi-Grammy winner Tom Hambridge and features the brass section from The Mavericks. The song won first place in the Blues category of the International Songwriting Competition in 2020.

De zoon van een Italiaanse vader en Cubaanse moeder wordt op 12 augustus 1969 in New York geboren en groeit op in Miami. Vanaf zijn twaalfde leert hij gitaar spelen en op zijn eenentwintigste wordt hij professioneel muzikant. Zijn grote kans kwam toen Junior Wells hem in zijn band opnam. Inmiddels vele jaren en een flink aantal soloalbums later is deze Albert Castiglia een graag geziene gast op de podia over de hele wereld.

 De Space Age Travellers is een van de vele projecten waar muzikale duizendpoot B.J. Baartmans zich mee bezig houdt. En dit naast zijn solowerk en samenwerking met onder meer Eric de Vries en Iain Matthews en vele andere dingen. De Space Age Travellers is enkele jaren geleden begonnen met drummer Sjoerd van Bommel en bassist Gerco Aerts. Leunde het trio in het verleden zwaar op de muziek van de Shadows en de Ventures, op de nieuwe plaat “Satellite Shuffle” blijft dit de basis, maar verschuiven de accenten toch wat meer naar blues en rock ’n roll.

Black Pearl is een project dat bestaat uit de samenwerking tussen de Finse gitarist Muddy Manninen, de Amerikaanse zanger en gitarist Marcus Malone en de Britse radioman en tekstschrijver Pete Feenstra. Goed beschouwd drie buitenlanders, die nu in Londen wonen. Feenstra kwam jaren geleden met zijn ouders mee uit Nederland, Malone uit Detroit en Manninen uit Helsinki. Laatstgenoemde is jarenlang gitarist geweest bij Wishbone Ash en de in Detroit geboren Malone heeft ooit gewerkt voor Motown en Ike Turners label in Los Angeles voordat de liefde hem naar Londen bracht, waar hij zowel in eigen bands als in diverse projecten, waaronder één met Innes Sibun, heeft gewerkt.

Shreveport, Louisiana-based band Seratones are releasing a new album, Love & Algorhythms, on April 29 via New West. Now they have shared its last single, the disco-inspired “Pleasure.”.

In a press release, frontwoman A.J. Haynes says she was inspired by the writings of Afrofuturist author Octavia Butler, adding: “In ‘Pleasure,’ I wanted to emulate one of Butler’s aliens playing in a Giorgio Moroder Venutian soundscape, a gleaming creature designed for pleasure and multiplicity.”
