Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, 23, the rising-star blues guitarist, songwriter and vocalist from Clarksdale, Mississippi, won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album for his sophomore release, 662. The award, Ingram’s first-ever Grammy, was presented at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, April 3. Ingram’s debut album, 2019’s Kingfish, had previously received a Grammy Award nomination.

Op zijn nieuwe album, Just Me and My Friend(s), gebruikt Charlie Barath blues, country, tot old-timey en western swing, dit album is een showcase voor het bereik van zijn songwriting en harmonica vaardigheden.

 Ik werd blootgesteld aan veel klassieke country omdat mijn vader daar naar luisterde in de auto toen ik opgroeide (in de buurt van Wheeling, WV). Ik hield er toen niet van, maar de zaadjes waren gezaaid - het duurde alleen een tijdje om te groeien. Toen ik begon met harp spelen, speelde ik alles wat ik kon.

Locatie was Tivoli Raalte waar de vrienden van Ribs & Blues waren uitgenodigd voor een pre party en als opwarmer voor het grote Ribs & Blues Festival 2022 die van 4-5-6 Juni zal plaats vinden in Raalte.
