Een eclectisch weekend in De Amer
Soulvolle blues van Kat Riggins op de vrijdag, roots/americana én een nieuw album van Stephanie Struijk op zaterdag en een ‘Jan Rotmiddag’ met Marjolein Meijers op de zondag. Er is weer keuze genoeg in De Amer tijdens het derde weekend van januari.
Maar uiteraard beginnen we graag met de beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar! Laat het een zo gezond mogelijk, gezellig, liefdevol en muzikaal 2024 worden.

Het is alweer tijd voor de zestiende editie van het Bluesfestival! Dat vraagt om een kanjer van een line-up. Maar liefst acht acts komen naar De Tamboer. Popa Chubby, Erwin Java's Travel Party ft. Sean Webster, Barrelhouse, The Dibs, Little Steve & the Big Beat waren al bekend. Band of Friends, Kat Riggins en Grainne Duffy maken de imposante lijst compleet.
Daarnaast hebben we natuurlijk weer voldoende gezelligheid, eten en drinken om het festival compleet te maken. Voldoende redenen om nu je kaarten* te bestellen!

Een “bloody good” debuutalbum! Dat is een zeer adekwate omschrijving van het debuutalbum van zanger-gitarist Emanuel Casablanca uit Brooklyn. En dat is niet vanwege het feit dat er bloed voorkomt in vrijwel elke songtitel op dit album maar meer omdat we hier te maken hebben met een zeer apart album in het bluesrock genre. Apart omdat het album gedompeld is in een schrapend fuzzend geluid.

We've got a new single coming out on Friday 24th June. This is the latest release from Misty Blues, and it features Kat Riggins on vocals, and Justin Johnson on guitar.
I don't expect a review, as it's only a single. But it would be great if you could help the band by featuring it on your website, and sharing it on your socials.
The single is called The Hate, and it was written in response to a comment left on a Misty Blues' YouTube Channel during the release of Fright Car, from their previous album.

Danny Vera, Beth Hart en John Fogerty op Holland International Blues Festival 2022
Danny Vera, Bert Hart en John Fogerty zijn slechts enkele van de artiesten die dit jaar optreden op het Holland International Blues Festival. Ook onder meer Walter Trout en King Solomon Hicks zijn van de partij op 9, 10 en 11 juni in Blues Village Grolloo. De kaartverkoop voor de jubileumeditie wordt hervat op vrijdag 28 januari.
Kaarten die al waren gekocht voor de editie van 2020 blijven geldig.
Door corona moest het Holland International Blues Festival twee keer worden verplaatst, maar het vijfjarig bestaan wordt in juni alsnog groots gevierd: verdeeld over maar liefst drie dagen in plaats van twee.
