Rhythm & Blues into Pop rock duo Feenstra & Simpson announce their 9th single release called ‘Two Halves Make A Whole’, released on 15th October on all leading platforms.

Feenstra & Simpson 8th single called ‘Prospect of Love’, released on the 17th June on all leading social media platforms.

'Prospect of Love' is the kind of snappy, harmony heavy pop-song with a biting Wilko Johnson guitar attack that has marked the pop-rock duo of guitarist/multi-instrumentalist and vocalist John Simpson and songwriter Pete Feenstra as channelling the melodic sensibility of the likes of Squeeze, Travelling Wilburys, Tom Petty, Gerry Rafferty and The Beatles. 

Conceptually speaking; ‘Prospect of Love’ had some twists and turns before it was fully realised as John Simpson explains: “When Pete first sent me the lyrics he told me he heard it as an Andy Williams tune.

Pop-rock duo Feenstra & Simpson’s new single 'Blue Plaque’ celebrates the 160th anniversary of the National Heritage Blue Plaque scheme, which serves as a historical marker of the achievements of people in the past with buildings of the present.

As lyricist Pete Feenstra explains; “I first had the idea of writing an article about the symbolic historical lineage in London after the 1997 unveiling of the Jimi Hendrix blue plaque.

No Coming Back’ is roots rockers Feenstra & Simpson’s 5th single release and marks a return to their signature pop influenced roots rock, after their unexpected Heritage & Dutch chart success with the rhythm and blues inspired ‘I Don’t Get It’ and ‘1975’.
“The song is about how love can pull you from the familiar into the unknown and never let’s go.”
For the new single they talked about their musical direction and decided to go back to the basics of words, melody, harmonies, rhythm and subliminally The Beatles.
As John said: “We didn’t know about our mutual passion for the Fab 4 until we’d cut the first two singles.

Feenstra And Simpson announce their new double A Sided single called ‘I Don’t Get It’ / ‘75’, a self release.

Written as a homage to the Wilko Johnson era Dr. Feelgood, it will be released digitally the 10th of May (Lee Brilleaux’s birthday).

A new songwriting partnership for me. Mr Pete Feenstra came up with the lyrics and I took his basic sketch, added some twists and turns to the melody and then recorded it in my home studio.
