Just Announced--the band will be performing an official showcase at AmericanaFest 2025.
The album nearly didn’t happen—lost masters, a pandemic, and a wildfire almost destroyed it entirely. But through persistence, late-night recording sessions, and a heroic gear rescue during the Eaton Fire, the band finished what may be their most emotionally resonant and sonically adventurous record to date.
Self-produced and mixed/mastered by Dave Trumfio (Wilco, Grandaddy), the album was recorded in off-hours at the School of Audio Engineering in Hollywood and finished at guitarist Aaron Bakker’s home studio in 2020 before it burned.
The sound is rooted in classic American songwriting but unafraid to stretch (think Muscle Shoals soul meets late-Beatles psychedelia with desert folk and Southern rock in the mix). The Far West blends sad songs with infectious grooves, built on lived experience, loss, and the stubborn hope that something better is just around the corner.
