created as a trio, which celebrates the timeless charm of classic blues and boogie-woogie piano. Recorded in a single session at Chicago’s long-established Joyride Studio, where numerous blues legends have recorde d their Grammy-winning classics, it captures a dynamic live performance by Lee Kanehira on piano and vocals, accompanied by John W. Lauler on upright bass and Derek Hendrickson on drums. his album included super fun dance numbers that will give you the boogie woogie frenzy It’s a groove you can’t help dancing to…so let’s get ready for the party! |

THE CHICAGO BLUES - PIANO TRIO!!
Miss Lee / Pianist and singer Hailing from Tagawa, a coal mining city in South Japan, Lee Kanehira played classical piano in her childhood. After graduating from a music college, she fell in love with the blues and taught herself to play and sing. She started her career in Japan and came to play in Korea, China, U.S., Canada and Europe. Miss Lee plays as a solo artist, has played with artists including Shun Kikuta and currently tours with the Cash Box Kings.The winner of 2018 Chicago Blues Piano Contest, she was invited to play Otis Spann tributes in Chicago Blues Festival in 2019, and on the main stage in 2024. She made leader albums “Union Meetin’” (2014) with her Chicago friends and “Lee’s Boogie”(2017) on her own, and now “The Chicago Blues Trio!!” (2024) is on the way, all recorded in Joy Ride Studio, Chicago. John W. Lauler / Bassist A Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies from Columbia College, Chicago, John plays nightly and tours regularly. His styles range from classic soul and blues to jazz and rock. He plays for the bluesman Breezy Rodio and the Cash Box Kings. He plays, writes and arranges for the Epic Sounds and the Giving Trio and leads jazz/soul group the Heavy Sounds. Derek Hendrickson / Drummer Derek started his career with the award winning rock band the Family Business. He met Miss Lee while playing for the Cash Box Kings, and he and John accompanied Miss Lee on her American solo debut gig in July 2023. They sounded so good together that they decided to record this album.
