DANI WILDE - Baby Please...

DANI WILDE - Baby Please...

(Stop Smokin' That Weed!)

Baby Please... (Stop Smokin' That Weed!)

Dani Wilde lists her musical influences for this track as Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Nick Curran and The Low Lifes. "Samantha Fish, Cassie Taylor and I once caught a Nick Curran gig in this grungy club in Berlin on an off night from our tour

. This was years ago now and sadly Nick Curran has since passed, but his music left a big impression on me!" "This track was really about getting in the studio and having fun and letting loose. We had a blast recording it and I hope you will all have fun listening to it. And, FYI, since I wrote this track my man has not smoked any more weed” Wilde laughs, “He is my new-improved man; just perfect now!"

Dani Wilde

British Blues Award winner Dani Wilde burst onto the International blues scene in 2007, opening for Jools Holland as a special guest of Christopher Holland’s band, at London’s Royal Albert Hall. That same year she signed to prestigious blues record label Ruf Records.

“She releases a sort of diesel roar from her throat, pierced with little darts of high falsetto. It is like two voices. She sings the twelve bar blues - whooping and slurring like an old boy from the Delta. The place goes mad, as if it can’t quite believe what it’s heard.”  — Alan Franks, The Times Magazine

Since then, Wilde has toured extensively (playing up to 250 concerts a year) across the UK, Europe, America, Canada and Africa, charting in the blues charts and country charts in Europe. USA concerts have included headline shows under her own name, and performances with girl group “Girls With Guitars” alongside Samantha Fish and Cassie Taylor. The group’s 2012 record, produced by Mike Zito in Berlin, was a hit in Europe; the single ‘Bitch’ reaching the Number 1 spot in the iTunes blues charts in Italy.

In 2017, Dani signed with Vizztone Label Group to release a live in the studio album entitled “Live at Brighton Road”. Her single ‘Bumblebee’ reached over 4 million plays on Spotify. Since then her relationship with Vizztone has continued to thrive with further digital releases.

2024 sees Wilde teaming up with top female session musicians Victoria Smith (Bass) and Abby White (Drums) in a kick-ass all-female rock n roll trio. The result, a killer rock 'n' roll song showcasing Wilde's rocket fuelled vocals and exciting lead guitar skills.

THE BAND

Victoria Smith (Bass)

Victoria is a professional freelance musician and tutor based in Brighton, UK. With a vast amount music industry experience spanning 20 years, Victoria has toured extensively over the UK, Europe and America. Performances have included many headline festival slots, BBC Radio sessions and in 2013, a nomination for best bassist at the British Blues Awards. Victoria is proud to endorse Rotosound strings and Orange Amplifiers. On stage and in the studio, Victoria has worked with a wide range of artists, including, The Ramonas, Dani Wilde, Ruf Records Blues Caravan, McQueen, Richie Ramone, Will Wilde, Robin Guy, Justin Welch and Diva Purple.

Abby White (Drums)

Abby has been drumming since the age of 13, after falling in love with the film School of Rock. Abby achieved a 2:1 for her BA Honours Degree in Professional Musicianship at BIMM Brighton. Whilst at University, Abby formed and developed her own creative project with the band Friar’s Lantern. With the intention of creating electronic and atmospheric music for the visuals and film projected at their shows, Friar’s Lantern went on to tour throughout the UK. Upon leaving University, Abby’s focus turned to session playing and she created her own YouTube channel, with the intention of covering some of her favourite songs and music. Through her drum covers on YouTube, Abby was able to obtain a cymbal endorsement with the cymbal brand TRX. Abby’s playing style takes inspiration from a variety of drummers, (particularly other female drummers) such as Anika Niles and (fellow TRX endorsee) Lindsey Raye Ward. However, when it comes to live shows and performance, Abby’s primary inspiration is Keith Moon from The Who. Expect loud drums and a big performance!
