TAO, THE ROCKER-SONGWRITER IS OUT WITH THE SINGLE
“THE SCENT OF FREEDOM”, AND THE NEW ALBUM “FREEDHOME”.
The tireless songwriter-rocker and multi-instrumentalist TAO, four years after the previous record, releases the single ‘The Scent of Freedom’ and the new album ‘Freedom’ both on Friday 9 December on all digital platforms, in CD and Vinyl format. TAO focused himself to the production of the new album, playing every instrument: vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, bass, banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, drums, percussion, piano and string arrangements, accompanied by ANA, his muse as well as voice in all the songs and banjo player in some tracks.
TAO declares: «Among the 15 tracks on the album “Freedhome” I chose “The Scent of Freedom” for love, because it’s a true story, the story of my life partner for twenty years, Ana. I wanted to give voice to the feelings of those who, like her, had to leave home and loved ones to get out of a life full of difficulties and deprivations. It is how you face and overcome these problems that makes you who you are. After all, Ana in just two years – during the pandemic – learned to sing, play the banjo and record it on disk. She’s really tough!”
‘Freedhome‘ is TAO’s eighth album, it is entirely English and contains 15 songs. With a sound that moves easily between pop, folk, country, rock and Americana, it is largely inspired by “Little House on the Prairie“, a series of books written in the early twentieth century by Laura Ingalls Wilder, from which the TV series with the same name was later based ‘The House on the Prairie’. A journey where reality and imagination melt together, giving life to deep music and personal and powerful lyrics. ‘Freedhome‘, the title already expresses the concept: ‘Freedom‘ And ‘Home‘ are just two sides of the same coin.
WHO IS TAO
TAO it’s a “singer-songwriter-rocker”, multi-instrumentalist and producer. For 15 years he has been known to be the creator of TAO Love Bus Experience, or the first rock’n’roll traveling tour aboard the TAO Love Bus – the fantastic graphically decorated 1974 Volkswagen bus ‘hippie style’ and equipped as a traveling stage. This magical casket on four wheels has allowed TAO to play inside it with the whole band as well as to spread its music on the move along the streets of Italy and Europe. With 1,100 shows, 800 cities touched, 160,000 km traveled, many festivals, reviews, white nights and prestigious events, collaborations with important brands such as Volkswagen, Diesel, Benetton, TAO and its original tour have been immortalized on all national channels – X-Factor, Tg1, Tg3, Tg La7, Blob, Easy Driver, Striscia la Notizia, La vita in Diretta, Italia allo Specchio – and on many national newspapers. TAO has released eight albums: ‘Forliverpool’ (2005),
