Dixi’s Amersfoort is een bluesrock band uit Amersfoort welke ontstaan is eind jaren 80 onder de toenmalige naam Dickies. De band is voortgekomen uit de bands Wells Fargo en Attila met toen Dirk Kollen (Wells Fargo, Blackstreet Blues) op bas, Herbie Vanderloo (Wells Fargo, Attila) op gitaar en Willem Michels op drums.
Dit “side” project heeft menig bühne gezien en dat heeft uiteraard veel lol opgeleverd. Na het veel te vroeg overlijden van Willem in Juli 2020 is Arne ten Hoedt (Minas Tirith, Virtual, Dipswitch) gevraagd om zijn plek in te nemen op de drums. Deze voelde zich zeer geëerd en heeft de taak van Willem in volle overtuiging voortgezet. Al na enkele maanden was de band klaar om de Rock Studio Beekbergen in te gaan om daar samen met producer Kris ten Hoedt het debuutalbum Kenjedit?! op te nemen.
Omdat er al een Dickies bestaat, is de naam van de band daardoor veranderd naar Dixi’s! Hierover geen commentaar, hahaha! Dit album is onder eigen beheer uitgebracht in December 2020 en uiteraard nog steeds verkrijgbaar! De band staat te popelen om op te kunnen treden, maar door Covid-19 is dit zo goed als onmogelijk.
Mede daardoor heeft de band genoeg tijd gehad om in Juli 2021 ook de tweede cd, Ajeto!!!, op te nemen. Deze ook met Kris in de Rockstudio Beekbergen. Hierop staan ook 3 eigen geschreven nummers en deze is al ruimschoots zal verkrijgbaar
Zo gauw het weer mogelijk is zal de band, met inmiddels 2 albums op zak, de bühne weer gaan beklimmen om hun vunzige, ruige, vuige, on-acid blues rock aan jullie voor te schotelen.
Denk aan nummers van Free, Gov’t Mule, Foreigner, BBM, Cream etc. Deze doorgewinterde muzikanten weten hoe een show moet zijn, dus zorg ervoor dat je erbij bent! En koop dan ook gelijk maar ff een cd’tje als je er toch bent! Of beter nog, allebei! Wij moeten ook eten, hahahahahaha. Wij van Dixi’s groeten u. Ajeto, and see you on the road! Cheers!!!

As soon as it's possible again the band, with 2 albums under their belts, will climb the stage again to present their dirty, rough, dirty, on-acid blues rock to you.
Think of songs by Free, Gov't Mule, Foreigner, BBM, Cream etc. These seasoned musicians know what a show should be like, so make sure you're there! And buy a CD while you're there!
