Het nieuwe Lowheart-album "Catharsis" is een verzameling humeurige en oprechte liedjes, geschreven over een periode van tien jaar of meer, die een soort conceptalbum vormen - een verhaallijn creërend die volgt vanaf de scheiding van de ouders van de schrijver tot hun eigen ontwrichting van het huwelijk en de daaropvolgende nasleep. Het album bevat intens persoonlijke teksten, geleverd met gepaste emotie en passie, over een akoestische instrumentatie.

Deze verhalende draad verbindt de nummers thematisch met elkaar en neemt de luisteraar mee op een emotionele reis. De akoestische gitaar is de dominante basis voor de muziek, elk begeleid door dramatische leadgitaarsolo's - waarvan vele elektrisch, sommige behoorlijk zwaar en vaak opwindend, en die altijd een extra dimensie aan de nummers toevoegen. De verscheidenheid aan geluiden die in deze leadgitaarpauzes worden gecreëerd, onderstrepen de diversiteit en uniciteit van de nummers.

The new Lowheart album "Catharsis" is a collection of moody and heartfelt songs, written over the period of a decade or more, that form a concept album of sorts - creating a story arc that follows from the divorce of the writer's parents to their own marriage breakdown and subsequent aftermath. The album features intensely personal lyrics, delivered with appropriate emotion and passion, over an acoustic-based instrumentation.

This narrative thread ties the songs together thematically, taking the listener on an emotional journey. The acoustic guitar is the dominant basis for the music, each accompanied by dramatic lead guitar solos - many of which are electric, some quite heavy and often exhilarating, and always adding an extra dimension to the tracks. The variety of sounds created in these lead guitar breaks underline the diversity and uniqueness within the songs.

The overall sound is a genre-defying blend of country, folk, blues, and acoustic rock, that could best be described as "Roots Rock", or Alt-Country - but the dark feel and moments of despair, sorrow, and anger should appeal to fans of heavy rock. The album was mostly recorded simultaneously with its predecessor, the hard-rocking "Rock Du Jour" set, and sits in direct contrast to that album musically, with a lighter, subtle touch applied throughout - underpinned by the intense feelings of angst and melancholy. LOWHEART  is een Australisch rock- en country-songwriting- en opnameduo uit Victoria's zuidelijke Bayside-gebied, bestaande uit singer/songwriter/gitarist  JASON LOWE en leadgitarist/bassist/producer  SIMON HART . Lowe speelt ook mondharmonica op verschillende nummers, en Hart maakt alle drumtracks, waarbij ze allebei percussie en achtergrondzang bijdragen.

 Het paar heeft zes albums uitgebracht, die wereldwijd worden gedistribueerd door CD Baby: het hardrockende " Act on Impulse ", de Alt-Country-set " Long Hard Road ", 2016's " Lost and Found ", die de twee stijlen combineerde in een hard- gescherpte Country-Rock-sound, de 2019 Classic Rock-set " Gravel or Gold ", het platte Heavy Rock-uitje " Rock Du Jour " en het schaarse, emotionele, akoestische " Catharsis ".  Alle zes kunnen worden gestreamd of gedownload via Spotify, AppleMusic, Amazon, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer en de meeste andere platforms.
