ProgMetal 4-piece CHAOSBAY from Berlin are going to
release their second long player ASYLUM in September via Timezone Records.

It quickly becomes clear that there is an incredibly high musical level and: The boys apparently have something to say too. ProThe new record is more up to date than ever. Aside from genre-typical fantasy epics and surreal dream sequences, the band expresses their opinion on racism, xenophobia, the refugee problem and moral decay in times of capitalism in a cynical and haunting form. The previous released singles "Amen" and "Soldiers" already gave an impression of the social criticism in this album, as well as individual stories of victims of the refugee crisis in the last years, always looking for more warmth, empathy and humanity in the world.

“Somehow, it no longer felt so sensible for me to come up with stories at a time when there is enough to tell about what is really happening. That was much more important to me, ”said singer and main songwriter Jan Listing in an interview with the Shieldmaiden's Voice blog.

After their previous record VASILISA in 2015 CHAOSBAY is back: Even harder, closer to Metalcore, further away from Classic Rock than before. Grown-up, aware of their strengths, the boys celebrate their incredibly energetic interplay with almost pedantic perfection at a rapid pace. The album was produced for the frst time by mastermind Jan Listing. Comparisons like Periphery, Tesseract, but also Opeth, Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater always come up in connection with the sound of the band. Double bass thunderstorms, djent riffs and evil growls alternate with great melodies, harmony vocals and acoustic guitars. Produced in a modern and uncompromising manner, powerful, virtuoso, tricky and yet always focused on catchy hooklines, the record leads you through the nine chapters, between which recurring motifs and topics are hidden and which makes the listening experience exciting and entertaining. Mixed and mastered by Christof Kempe (Embark Audio), who was also responsible for the sound of bands like Time The Valuator, Breathe Atlantis or Burning Down Alaska, the album is in no way inferior to international competition.
