VizzTone releases new 11 GUYS QUARTET single – “Sneaky Pete”
The Sneaky Pete story: Itinerant bluesmen the 11 Guys Quartet have traveled the world in search of Sneaky Pete! With Cold War shades of 007 and Get Smart, here's the Sneaky Pete theme... a modern classic!
The 11 Guys Quartet are: Paul Lenart (guitar, vocals), Chuck Purro (drums, vocals), Bill "Coach" Mather (bass) and Richard "Rosy" Rosenblatt (harmonica). They are all veteran musicians who have spent many decades honing their craft in clubs and concert halls, and on festival stages. Paul toured Europe as part of the 1972 American Folk Blues Festival with T-Bone Walker, Big Mama Thornton and others, and also appeared on Keith Moon's 1975 solo album; Chuck recorded on the Colwell-Winfield Blues Band's groundbreaking Cold Wind Blues; Paul, Bill and Chuck all toured and recorded with the James Montgomery Band in the 1970s; Rosy recorded with Sunnyland Slim and Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson; and the guys all played together or separately with blues greats including Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, and John Lee Hooker.

The quartet first came together as the 11th Hour Band in the early 1980s to back many of the blues greats who came through their hometown of Boston, MA USA, all the while creating a following of their own up and down the east coast. In 1985 they become the flagship recording artists for the fledgling Tone-Cool Records label, which was, coincidentally, started by their harmonica player.
In recent years they have added music videos to their repertoire of new songs and attracted a huge new audience to their YouTube channel, where you can see the videos and hear their whole catalog. Click below for their YouTube page

Around 2008 the 11th Hour Band guys decided to go into VizzTone's basement studio to record some original blues instrumentals — straight-ahead, unadorned live takes, mood pieces and variations — no screaming solos, all self-contained and, well... small. After considering the possibilities for another decade or so, they decided in 2020 it was time to update the band's name and release this music to the world as "11 Guys Quartet - Small Blues And Grooves," and fans, radio and press from around the world responded lovingly:

The band pressed forward and compiled another 11 singles for the 2023 album "11 X 11". Since then, the seemingly unstoppable quartet has released another half-dozen singles, each with an insanely creative video, courtesy of master videographer Billl "the Coach" Mather. Two recent offerings, "Lonesome Hotel Blues" and "Off The Rails", have received heavy airplay on SiriusXM's Bluesville, once again expanding their audience to new listeners. "Off The Rails" exceeded expectations by remaining on Bluesville's top-15 "Rack Of Blues" for six months!
