As most of you know, we’ve got this album that we’ve been working on for the past year, and it’s finally all set for release, but because of circumstances beyond our control (that is, a global pandemic) we can’t have a party to celebrate.

 

So what we’ve decided to do is to release the digital version of it now and offer the CD to anyone who wants it for just a few euros more. The digital album can be ordered immediately and will be available from Saturday, August 15, and the CD is currently in production. You can order it now and It should be ready around September 1 but we can’t guarantee that. We definitely would like to celebrate the release of the album with our friends, and plan to do that and play a few tunes from the album sometime in the coming months, but we can’t yet know when.

You can purchase the digital album for €8 or for just €2 more (plus €2 shipping and handling) get the CD, including a booklet with lyrics and credits, as well as the digital album.

 

 Oh yeah — about the album … back when we recorded So late so soon in June of last year, we could not have possibly anticipated all that has transpired since, but as it turns out, the 15 tunes seem — far more than intended —  to reflect a moment in time when much of what we thought we knew about the world seems to have been turned on its head. Love and death in the age of Trump — the title of one of the tunes – is strange, scary, and uncertain. Truth is variable. You may be better off with a healthy dose of skepticism than blind faith in your lover, your guru, or your leader. You may have great plans for the day — or your life — but it’s almost always later than you think. And the reality you are stuck with is almost certainly not the reality you ordered. Sounds serious but it’s all in good fun, with generous portions of irony and with tongue frequently planted firmly in cheek.

 

We’re really excited, at our advanced ages (average age 66), to present Katvanger’s debut album, and proud of what we’ve produced. We very much want to share it with our friends, fans, family, and the rest of the world. So check it out and we’ll let you know when we can all get togther once again.
