The Cathodes are a synth-pop band based near Manchester in the United Kingdom and mostly influenced by the melodies and sounds of the 80s with a small dash of the 60s thrown in.
The Cathodes officially came up with the band name on 21st March 2020, two days before the first lockdown here in the UK. This came after a glance at some of the musical equipment being used and in particular, the guitar amplifier which contains valves (vacuum tubes).
