De mannen van Normaal traden in 1975 voor het eerst op in het openluchttheater van Lochem. In 2015 stopte de band vanwege gezondheidsproblemen van frontman Bennie Jolink. In de jaren die volgden, herstelde hij echter dusdanig dat de band weer actief is in de studio en op het podium.

On Friday, June 18, Alligator Records will celebrate a half-century of recording history-making blues and roots rock with the release of Alligator Records — 50 Years Of Genuine Houserockin’ Music. Both the 24 song gatefold two-LP set (over 100 minutes of music) and the 58 song three-CD set (over 230 minutes) clearly lay out label founder and president Bruce Iglauer’s wide-ranging, forward-looking vision. The collection — with richly detailed liner notes written by Iglauer himself — highlights Alligator’s extraordinary past, headline-generating present, and a future dedicated to nurturing new generations of blues artists and fans.

Celebrating 50 Years of Alligator Records
Sweet Home Chicago Blues will feature internationally renowned vocalist Shemekia Copeland, slide guitar master Lil’ Ed Williams, beloved Chicago blues guitarist and songwriter Toronzo Cannon and legendary harmonica player Billy Branch with his all-star band, The Sons Of Blues. The Sons of Blues will serve as house band for the show, backing each of the headliners.

Governors State University (GSU) Center for Performing Arts (het Centrum) zal Chicago blues en Chicago-based Alligator Records' 50 te vieren e verjaardag door de presentatie van een online streaming video concert met in de hoofdrol vier van de populairste artiesten van het label. "Sweet Home Chicago - An Online Blues Celebration" zal een optreden bevatten van de legendarische mondharmonicaspeler Billy Branch
Orchestra Baobab viert 50-jarig bestaan
Ter gelegenheid van het jubileum van Senegal's trots brengt de band deze release voor het eerst op vinyl uit.
De reissue van het album 'Specialist in All Styles’ verschijnt op 25 september via World Circuit. Zowel in thuisland Senegal als over de hele wereld worden ze aanbeden; daarmee neemt Ochestra Baobab een speciale plaats in, in de Afrikaanse muziekgeschiedenis.
