Bywater Call staat bekend om het overstijgen van genre-grenzen en heeft een reputatie opgebouwd met opwindende, emotioneel geladen liveoptredens, gedreven door krachtige zang en een spannende interactie tussen alle zeven bandleden. Begin 2026 verdiende de band hun derde opeenvolgende nominatie voor de UK Blues Awards in de categorie "International Act of the Year" , na eerdere nominaties in 2025 en 2024.

Over Bywater Call

Bywater Call, afkomstig uit Toronto, Canada, is een zevenkoppige band die Southern soul en rootsrock speelt. De band staat bekend om hun krachtige liveoptredens, genre-overstijgende songwriting en uitzonderlijke muzikaliteit. Onder leiding van zangeres Meghan Parnell en gitarist Dave Barnes heeft de band een internationale fanbase opgebouwd door onophoudelijk te touren. De band, aangevuld met muzikanten Bruce McCarthy, Mike Meusel, Andrew Moljgun, Stephen Dyte en Julian Nalli, gaf in 2025 alleen al meer dan 130 concerten in 11 landen.

Bywater Call is drie keer achter elkaar genomineerd voor International Blues Artist of the Year bij de UK Blues Awards, en heeft daarnaast meerdere nominaties ontvangen voor de Independent Blues Awards en de Canadian Maple Blues Awards. De band heeft opgetreden op grote internationale festivals en evenementen, waaronder drie keer aan boord van Joe Bonamassa's Keeping the Blues Alive-cruise, en heeft het podium gedeeld met artiesten als The Black Keys, Warren Haynes Band, Marcus King, Blackberry Smoke, Whitehorse en Tom Cochrane. Parnell is ook uitgenodigd om samen te spelen met de befaamde pedal steel-gitarist Robert Randolph.

Het studioalbum Shepherd van Bywater Call uit 2024 werd door Classic Rock uitgeroepen tot Bluesalbum van het Jaar, terwijl Parnell en Barnes in januari 2025 op de cover van Blues in Britain stonden. Het livealbum Sunshine uit 2025 oogstte veel lof van critici en verstevigde daarmee hun reputatie als een van de meest meeslepende live-acts van dit moment.
