In a digital age full of filters, fixes, and pixels, “Real to Reel” is a bold return to something raw, real, and beautifully imperfect.

Recorded live at analog-treff in Nuremberg – no computers, no plugins, no post-fix – this album captures The Big Creek Slim Band as they truly are: live, loose, and locked-in. The tape was rolling, the red light was on, and what you hear is exactly what happened – every groove, every howl, every breath.
With just six tracks clocking in at nearly 40 minutes, this is blues with space to stretch out. It’s full of swagger, humour, and that special kind of tension you only get when seasoned musicians play together in a room.
Cut from the original 1⁄4” master tape at SST Brüggemann in Frankfurt and pressed on heavyweight 180g vinyl, this limited release is for audiophiles and blues lovers alike. No digital version, no compromise – just pure, living sound.

Track Highlights:
“Kokomo” – The opener that sets the tone: raw groove, and very much alive.
“In Your Brand New Automobile” – slow burner soaked in soul and tape hiss. Slim at his very best, Roger adds the tabasco sauce, the band lays it down – no rush, no polish, just feeling.
“Skinny Woman” – A hypnotic closer with a dark Hill Country pulse. Loose, lean, and loaded with atmosphere.
For fans of: Lightnin' Hopkins, Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker, RL Burnside
