This hearHelt collection of songs brings together an extraordinary lineup of musicians and artits, each offering their own unique interpreta7on of Matt’s music to honour his life and his musical journey.

The record is a powerful testament to the impact Matt had on the blues and rock community in the UK and beyond. The closing track and 7tle track ‘With a Like Help from My Friends’ is taken from the live finale of the Benefit gig for Ma? at the Stables, Milton Keynes, in June 2024 which turned out to be Ma?s final performance. It’s a beautiful way to close the album and it sums up the sense of community that is threaded throughout this record.
Blues Rock Review has described the record as ‘A project born from friendship and love,’ and speaks of how the tragic loss of Matt has brought the blues rock world together in the most moving of ways.
All profits from the album will be donated to the Cancer Unit at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, where Matt received his care. The project stands not only as a moving tribute to Matt’s talent but also as a way to give back to the people and place that supported him during his illness:
Special men7ons to Dan Lucas of Joplin House Studios in Kent who allowed the ar7sts to use his studios free of charge and also mixed much of the album, to Matts close friend and former wri7ng partner Alice Armstrong who has produced a very special album cover, and to Elles Bailey who has masterminded the digital campaign for the album.
Ma9s mother Fiona says ‘Matt would have been overwhelmed with the amount of love that has gone into this project from his friends in the music community. Being able to use the money raised from the sale of this album to help other cancer paAents in some small way makes his loss a llttle easier to bear. We are so immensely grateful to every single person who has contributed their Ame and talent to producing this album, and know it will be a tribute to Matt.
