This is her 3rd release following 2022's Wish her Well and 2023's Memphis Calling.
A Superb Album" - Gary Grainger (The Blues Show)
"I Love the fiery 'Wang Dang Doodle' & oh so plaintive 'It Don't Make Sense" - Dennis Roberts (Blues Radio UK)
"She's not from Middlesbrough, She's from Mississippi!" exclaimed Hi-Rhythm Section pianist Archie 'Hubbie' Turner when he heard Emma Wilson sing Willie Dixon's "Hoochie Coochie Mama" for the Internationally acclaimed 2023 Memphis Calling Album, inspiring Emma to delve into the works of the great Willie Dixon for her new release A Spoonful of Willie Dixon
Further inspired by her visit to Clarksdale, MS in 2024 where she was invited by the "Pinetop Perkins Foundation" to sing at the hallowed 'Ground Zero Club'. Emma felt welcomed and inspired to make an album which showed her deep respect for the Blues and showcased her extraordinary voice through the brilliant compositions of the great Willie Dixon. Performing Willie's songs in her set felt good and her superb British band played them so well, having toured Europe their sound developed a groove and rawness of its own and Emma knew she had to get it on tape. The deep respect that Emma and the band have for the legendary Willie Dixon is evident in their interpretation of his songs which showcases Emma's extraordinarily versatile Blues voice.
