In January 2023 Emma visited her Distribution Company ‘Select-O-Hits’ in Memphis and met with company owner Johnny Phillips who was excited to share that the family owned ‘Sam Phillips Recording’ Studios had recently acquired the original STAX recording console and she should get over there & record her new album.

“This was an opportunity I couldn’t miss, so in June ’23 I returned to Memphis. Producer Scott Bomar brought in legendary Memphian musicians . The recording session was so soulful – drenched in rhythm & blues. Singing with the incredible band..in Sam Phillips Studio, is was a magical experience… on this record I want to represent a modern English woman, deeply influenced by the music of Memphis, bringing her own Britishness, making an album with a unique contemporary sound and I believe we have achieved this” Emma Wilson
