In Memoriam: Dave Allison(Anvil)

Former Anvil rhythm guitarist Dave Allison (1956-2024) Sleaze Roxx has some sad news to report as Anvil‘s original and former rhythm guitarist Dave “Squirrely” Allison has passed away at the age of 68 reportedly from cancer. The guitarist was born on January 5, 1956 and reportedly passed away on September 30, 2024.

Allison was in Anvil from the 1970s to 1989, and played on their first five studio albums consisting of Hard ‘n’ Heavy (1981), Metal On Metal (1982), Forged In Fire (1983), Strength of Steel (1987) and Pound For Pound (1988).  He also appeared on the compilation album Backwaxed (1985) and the live record Past and Present – Live in Concert (1989). Allison returned to the stage with Anvil at the Red Dog in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada on April 15, 2017 after a 27 year absence to celebrate the 35th year anniversary of the release of the album Metal On Metal.
