CHIP TAYLOR - BEHIND THE SKY

CHIP TAYLOR  - BEHIND THE SKY

FEBRUARY 23: CD
Chip writes and sings about life. Could be about anybody's everyday life. But many of his songs are very personal. And this is his most personal album yet: songs about his cancer treatment. Records probably do not get more intense than this one.

Songwriters Hall of Fame 2016 inductee Chip Taylor has been writing and performing for nearly 60 years and shows no sign of slowing down. The New York Times says it best, “If you only know him as the as the guy who wrote ‘Wild Thing’ and ‘Angel of the Morning” — you don’t know him! Chip Taylor is making some of the most distinctive acoustic music around today.” With the release of A Song I Can Live With, Taylor continues to come up with timeless. thought-provoking music.

Chip has a new album coming in February 2024. It's called Behind The Sky and is the first one he recorded all together with his band since Yonkers NY. The songs were all written earlier this year while Chip was undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatment. The band all came together for a performance to celebrate the wonderful doctors and nurses who were instrumental in treating Chip. Following the show, Chip, Goran Grini, John Platania, Tony Mercadante and Tony Leone went into the studio and recorded this brilliant new collection of songs.
