We thought it was over. We had a festival show coming up, and decided to honour that commitment as a memorial to 'the big chief'. New guitarist Martin Spellman played bass for the show, and Dunc's son Luke joined us for an emotional finale.
In the midst of our sadness and with much encouragement from friends and family, we decided the band should carry on, with Luke on his dad's bass and Martin S back on guitar.
So here it is, Old New Borrowed Blues:
The covers have a strong King Biscuit Blues Festival influence which we’ve been invited again to perform at in ’23 The originals are mostly from the Which Way To The Blues album. Re-recorded here because we always felt that the album sounded a bit under-powered compared to how the songs sounded live.
We've also included a previously-unreleased track which dates back to the Runnin' The Roads sessions. After two days of concentrated effort on the album, we let off steam by cantering through Tommy Castro's Back Up Plan. Fortunately, the record button remained pressed, so capturing what fate decreed would be Duncan's last studio recording. Thank you for playing our music, we hope you enjoy it.
