Simon McBride's 'The Fighter' is the precious fruit of hard work, of many years of experience on the road and in the studio. Currently Simon replaces Steve Morse in Deep Purple, who -due to a family matter- hiatus temporary. Joe Satriani who, played with the band in 1993 en 1994, said in an interview with eonmusic the following; “Simon is a great call for that, so that’s really great”, he said; “I mean, the band is close to Simon, and Simon’s a great guitarist”.
