Het debuutalbum ‘The Theory Of Absolutely Nothing’ van verhalenverteller Alex The Astronaut verschijnt op 21 augustus. De Australische zangeres en songwriter Alex the Astronaut (Alex Lynn) heeft altijd al een gave gehad om menselijke ervaringen in een liedje te kunnen samenvatten. Met haar treffende, door folk geïnspireerde pop ontrafelt de antropologe de worstelingen van het dagelijks leven. ‘The Theory Of Absolutely Nothing’ komt tot leven door de heldere melodieën en haar onmiskenbare stem. 
Het album is duidelijk het werk van een echte verhalenverteller en is afgestemd op de wereld om haar heen.
Op de plaat onderzoekt ze vriendschap, liefde, verlies, pijn, verandering en het album bevat ervaringen die horen bij het opgroeien. “I transitioned out of college, I went through my first break up, I lost a friend, I got into my first proper grown up relationship, and I started seeing bigger problems in the world,” legt ze uit. “I wanted the songs to mean something to me, to sit in my values, and I also wanted them to be a group of songs that told stories that meant something to the people that heard them,” voegt Alex eraan toe. “I’ve called it The Theory of Absolutely Nothing because I feel like the Einstein quote ‘the more I learn, the more I realise how much I don’t know’ really started to make sense to me during this writing process and a part of that comes through in a different way in each song.”
Over Alex The Astronaut: Alex Lynn is naast muzikant een getalenteerde voetballer, ze ontving een voetbalbeurs en verhuisde in 2017 van Sydney naar New York om wiskunde en natuurkunde aan de Long Island University te studeren. Haar debuutalbum 'The Theory of Absolutely Nothing' volgt de twee veelgeprezen EP’s ‘To Whom It May Concern’ en ‘See You Soon’ op, beide uit 2017.

Het jaar erna bracht Alex het nummer 'Not Worth Hiding’ uit; een open brief aan haar 16-jarige zelf die de zoektocht van haar seksualiteit omschrijft. De track verscheen op het moment dat Australië debatteerde over het homohuwelijk en werd het onofficiële volkslied van de ‘Stem Ja’ beweging. Ook werd het nummer door niemand minder dan Elton John gedraaid op zijn Beats 1 radio show.
Alex heeft al op verschillende podia van internationale festivals gestaan, zoals; Great Escape, Primavera Sound en Manchester's Neighbourhood Festival. In thuisland Australië, speelde ze o.a. op Splendor in the Grass, Triple J's One Night Stand en haar eigen headline tour.
