McDonough’s latest release, Can You See Me Now. Since 2014, John has released two critically received CDs, Dreams and Imagination and Surrounding Colors, played hundreds of gigs in and around his hometown of Austin, Texas, and successfully


toured the midwest and southwest. Dreams and Imagination and Surrounding Colors both spent six consecutive months on the Americana Music Association Record Chart, while The Place
Where I Belong,’from Surrounding Colors rose to number one on the IndieWorld Country Record Report. The result of this work
and these experiences is a man who knows himself and what he
wants, with a current release that is rich in harmony, rhythmically
driven, and lyrically poignant.McDonough retired from psychotherapy in 2011, and has since been a full time musician dedicated to honing his craft as a singer/songwriter while using his counseling knowledge to delve
